EFCC nabs 140 ‘Yahoo Boys’ in Ikorodu

140 suspected internet fraudsters known as Yahoo Boys have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ikorodu.

The boys were arrested at Lakers Lounge Hotel and Bar and De Butlers Hotel in Ikorodu in different sting operations.

Head, Media & Publicity, EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren said that the suspects were between the ages of 16 and 42 years.

He said that they were arrested following intelligence report received over their alleged involvement in internet fraud.

Uwujaren stated that four of the suspects have been released after no incriminating materials were found on them.

He said they will soon be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.

Uwujaren said, “Items recovered from the suspects include exotic cars, electronic devices, laptop computers and mobile phones.

“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as the investigations are concluded.
